Tuberculosis Association of India (TAI) established on 23 February 1939 has been among the oldest voluntary associations dedicated to fight the menace of tuberculosis (TB) in India. It has been actively contributing to both the advancement of knowledge pertaining to TB and its dissemination. Important programmes being pursued by TAI include organization of Annual Conference on TB, publication of Indian Journal of Tuberculosis, honoring the achievers throw various awards, supporting the efforts of state branches and other activities which strengthen such efforts. By these activities TAI has always tried to make sincere efforts to support our national programme on tuberculosis led by Govt of India which has evolved over the years into present National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP).
Since 1950 TB Seal Campaign has been conducted by TAI every year. Besides raising funds for the fight against TB, this campaign has been an important mode of spreading awareness about TB among masses and health care providers both in public and private sector. Like in the past we see the 74 TB Seal Campaign of 2023 as an important opportunity to make a small humble contribution towards strengthening the efforts of NTEP.
I convey my greetings to all dignitaries and media for joining this event to mark the launch of 74* TB Seal campaign. I also appeal to all stakeholders for their continued support for our overall work in general and this campaign in particular.
