The Government of India initiated the Hundred Days, Hundred Districts Tuberculosis Campaign as a part of its intensified efforts to eliminate tuberculosis (TB) in the country by 2025.
As a part of this initiative, an event was organized in the NGO, SPYM (a drug deaddiction centre) for female, situated at Parda Bagh, New Delhi. A total of 21 individuals, including 12 inmates and 9 staff members were screened of all 10 symptoms. During the screening, one inmate was diagnosed with TB. Immediate action was taken to ensure her treatment; she was referred to the hospital and promptly started on TB treatment.
The remaining 20 individuals tested negative for TB and the centre was declared TB-free, marking a significant milestone in the campaign.
