The diagnosis and treatment guidelines of DR-TB is still evolving, and India is updating the same in concurrence with the WHO recommendations. However, at the national level, there are various gaps including logistics, equipment, training, socio-economic and cultural factors, which also need to be tackled. Integration of the private sector with public health services can definitely help to increase and improve the coverage and treatment of DR-TB ni India. Linking the TB control programme with the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) can alleviate the economic constraints, as it can help provide free indoor care to patients.
